1) How can I get a mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

You can purchase a mCASH Prepaid Card right now online or visit an authorized dealer store location . Due to federal regulations, our reloadable and personalized card customers are required to provide personal information as required by the USA PATRIOT Act prior to activating an mCASH Prepaid Card.

 
2) What if I'm not a U.S. citizen?
 
Anyone can purchase a Non-Reloadable mCASH Prepaid Card.  In order to obtain a Reloadable or Personalized mCASH Prepaid Card, we will require you to provide personal information such as but not limited to; name, Social Security Number, physical mailing address and date of birth. See USA PATRIOT Act for more information.
 
3) Can my reloadable mCASH Prepaid Card be mailed to a PO Box?
 

No. For security reasons, all personalized mCASH Prepaid Card cards must be mailed to a physical address.

 

4) How long does it take to receive my mCASH Prepaid Card in the mail?
  You should receive your mCASH Prepaid Card in 7-10 business days.
 
5) Can I order an additional card for another family member?
  Yes. You can request up to three additional cards which can be embossed with the name of the persons you are giving the cards to. However, the process for application will be the same and will require personal information for each person as required by the USA PATRIOT Act. By obtaining additional cards, you can share the money you place in your primary account with the additional cardholders. Additional cards can be obtained during the activation process, or at a later time.
 
6) What if I have bad credit or no credit? Can I still apply for a mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

Yes. Since the mCASH Prepaid Card is not a credit card, there is no credit check or employment verification required. However, you will be required to provide personal information as required by the USA PATRIOT Act.

 
7) Can I use a mCASH Prepaid Card if I am under 18 years of age?
 

Yes. If you are under 18, you can use a mCASH Prepaid Card, but you must be 18 years or older to purchase one. If you are between the age of 14 and 18, simply have a parent or guardian purchase the card with you. Your parent can add you as an additional cardholder to their primary account or acquire and activate a card on your behalf provided you are at least 14 years of age.

 
8) How do I activate my mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

You can activate your mCASH Prepaid Card in one of three ways:

  1. Use your mobile phone (only if your phone is loaded with the mSPACE mobile phone application)
  2. Log into your online account
  3. Call the mCASH IVR system at (800) 235-8308

 
9) What is a PIN?
 

A Personal Identification Number (PIN) allows you to access your money and withdraw cash at an ATM if you have a Reloadable or Personalized mCASH Prepaid Card. To get cash back at a retail store, you must select the debit option when making your purchase.

 
10) Can I change my PIN?
 

Yes. You can change your mCASH Prepaid Card 4 digit PIN at any time by logging into your online account.

 
11) What if I forget my PIN?
 

If you forget your 4 digit PIN you must have your username and password to log into your online account and click on the forgot PIN? link. You will be asked your secret question and the correct answer must be provided to reset you PIN. If you have never activated your online account and setup your secret question and answer you must call customer service at (800) 235-8308, fees may apply.

 
12) How does the mCASH Prepaid Card work?
 

The mCASH Prepaid Card is a prepaid card that can be used anywhere Debit Card is accepted, including ATM's if you have a Reloadable or Personalized Prepaid Card, fees apply. The mCASH Prepaid Card is a debit card. This means you can only spend the funds you have loaded onto the card. Note: The reloading option only applies to Reloadable and Personalized cards.

 
13) How much does it cost to get an mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

The activation fee for an mCASH Prepaid Card is $9.99. The minimum initial load amount for any mCASH card is $10.00. The activation fee pays for the mCASH Prepaid Card and all the associated steps needed to set up and activate your new card and online account. Please see the cardholder agreements for a complete list of fees. Note: If loading via credit card, the initial load fee is 3% of the load amount.

 
14) How is the mCASH Prepaid Card different from a credit card?
 

The mCASH Prepaid Card is prepaid, which means that your available balance will vary based on the amount of cash you load onto the card. The amount you have loaded onto your mCASH Prepaid Card is the amount you have to spend. Each time you make a purchase or withdraw funds, that amount, plus applicable fees, will be deducted from the card balance. Note: cash access only available on reloadable cards.

 
15) How do I load money onto my mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

You can load your reloadable mCASH Prepaid Card five different ways:

  1. Direct deposit
  2. Login to your online account
  3. The secure mSPACE phone application
  4. Call the automated IVR at (800) 235-8308
  5. Load with cash at thousands of retail locations across the country including over 55,000 Green Dot® locations
 
16) What is the minimum and maximum load on my mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

The minimum load amount is $10 for any type of mCASH Prepaid Card.  The maximum load varies according to the card type.  For example, the Non-Reloadable card has a one-time maximum load of $500, the Reloadable card has maximum load of $2,500, and the Personalized card has a maximum load of $2,500. More information is available in the cardholder agreements.

 
17) Are there any load fees?
 

Load fees vary based on how and where you load money. mCASH does not charge a load fee if you load with payroll direct deposit or load with cash through any of the 55,000 Green Dot locations, third party fees may apply.  Authorized dealer locations will charge a $3.00 Card Reloading Fee when loading with cash.  A $3.00 Card Reloading fee will also be imposed if loading through ACH.  If loading via credit card, there is a fee of $0.50 + 3% of the amount loaded.

 
18) If I lose my mCASH Prepaid Card, can someone use it at an ATM?
 

The only cards that work at an ATM are reloadable cards. The only way someone else can use your reloadable card at an ATM is if they know your 4 digit PIN. You should never write your PIN on your card. Call customer service at (800) 236-8078 immediately to report your card lost or stolen, fees may apply.

 
19) In what countries can I use my mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

You can use your mCASH Prepaid Card anywhere that Debit Card is accepted. Note: use may be limited in some countries due to the bank’s compliance with the OFAC list, International fees apply.

 
20) Where can I use my mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

You can make purchases at millions of merchants, in person, online, or even over the telephone.  We may prohibit certain types of transactions where fraud or misuse is more common.  Examples of such transactions include: Internet gaming, pay-at-the-pump, Internet service providers, and certain Internet sites.

 
21) How do I use my mCASH Prepaid Card to make purchases at a retail store?
 

When swiping your mCASH Prepaid Card at a retail store terminal, choose either "credit" or "debit". If you choose “credit”, you simply sign the receipt. If you have a reloadable card you can choose “debit” and enter your PIN. Not all merchants accept PIN transactions. In that case, simply select “credit” and sign the receipt.

 
22) Can I share money with my mCASH Prepaid Card?
 

Yes.  If the person you wish to share money with is also an mCASH Prepaid Card cardholder, you can move money to them for free at any time using your mobile phone, through your online account, or by calling the automated IVR at (800) 235-8308. Only Reloadable and Personalized cardholders can receive money from another mCASH cardholder. You can also move money to a bank account, fees apply.  The rates for moving money to non-mCASH cardholders are listed in the cardholder agreements.

 
23) Can I use my mCASH Prepaid Card to withdraw cash?
 

Yes, if you have a reloadable card, you can withdraw cash from any ATM machine that accepts Debit Card. Simply enter your 4 digit PIN and select "Withdraw from Checking" and enter the amount of cash you wish to receive. Once again you can only withdraw available funds which you have loaded on your card, fees apply.

 
24) Can I use my mCASH Prepaid Card to pay for gasoline?
 

Yes, you can use your mCASH Prepaid Card to purchase gasoline, but you cannot pay for fuel at the pump. You must go inside and pay at the register.

 
25) How do I check my mCASH Prepaid Card balance?
 

You can check the balance of your mCASH Prepaid Card at any time through the mSPACE phone application, by calling the automated IVR at (800) 235-8308, or log into your online account,.  You can also check your available balance at any ATM that accepts Debit Card, fees apply.

 
26) What if there is something wrong with my available balance?
 

You can review posted transactions in your account history online for any discrepancies. If you need further assistance, call customer service at (800) 236-8078, fees may apply. Note that your mCASH Prepaid Card account may have money held pending authorization for recent purchases that will be released as soon as the merchant settles on the transaction. See cardholder agreements for details.

 
27) My balance is not showing a recent purchase, why?
 

There are many online and phone merchants that perform "batch” authorizations. These merchants take numerous orders over a period of time and wait before submitting them all at once for authorization at a later time. When the merchant finally settles your transaction, the amount you spent will be deducted from your available balance.

 
28) How long will my mCASH Prepaid Card remain valid?
 

Expiration dates vary depending on your card type and when your card was created. Your mCASH Prepaid Card expiration date is embossed on your card.

 
29) What should I do if my mCASH Prepaid Card is stolen?
 

Call customer service immediately at (800) 236-8078 to report your card lost or stolen, fees may apply.

 
30) Can I close my account at any time and withdraw my money?
 

Yes, if you have a Reloadable or Personalized card. The easiest way to cancel your mCASH Prepaid Card is to withdraw your money from an ATM or move it to a checking/savings account, fees apply. You can also request the funds be sent to you via check by calling our customer service at (800) 236-8078, fees may apply. Once we verify funds and your personal information, a check will be sent to you within 2 to 3 weeks. The Closed Account Check Printing Fee is $15 and will be deducted from your available balance. Funds loaded onto a non-reloadable card cannot be returned, however, you may upgrade to a Personalized card and your funds will be automatically moved to the the new card upon activation.
